What’s Happening: Three boxers—Luke Morrison (21), Gene Keremete (23), and Kipa Keremete (24)—from Neon Boxing Academy will represent Queensland at the AIS in Canberra from 25 May to 1 June 2025. It’s the final trial for the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool.
Why It Matters: This is their shot to wear the green and gold. But with partial funding, they need to raise $4,000 to cover travel and prep.
Local Impact: Redlands’ Neon Boxing Academy isn’t just building boxers—it’s building futures. Coach Leon’s program empowers youth through discipline, focus, and culture.
The Road Ahead : Selections follow the AIS camp. If chosen, they’ll fight for Australia in Liverpool this September.

Coach Neon added, “They’ve earned it. Now let’s help get them there.”

2. Brisbane to host Royal Tattoo 2026
The world-renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is heading to Brisbane for the very first time, with two spectacular shows set for 12 and 14 February 2026 at Suncorp Stadium.
Redlands locals are in for a rare treat as the Tattoo celebrates its 75th anniversary with a performance titled ‘The Heroes Who Made Us’.
Expect over 1,000 performers including Scottish dancers, massed pipe bands, and international military displays—all paying tribute to honour, resilience, and community. The event is backed by the Queensland Government and RACQ, and expected to inject up to $39 million into the state’s economy.
With strong ties to Queensland, Pipe Major Alisdair McLaren and dancer Connor Ferguson will lead the charge alongside performers from more than 50 countries. It’s a unique cultural experience for Redlands families just a short trip away.

3. Polish Council of Australia celebrates 75 years

Community Contributor - Thought for the week
The Hearts ‘Purpose’; Heart Health - We remember falling in love, gazing lovingly at a child, so why aren’t we generating this wonderful feeling all the time? Driven to fulfil selfish-desires happens instinctively, gratifying but fleeting, and this isn’t love, love we mostly have to construct ‘consciously’.
Love creates ambience, nurtures and protects you, and all in your presence.
Love heals, prevents heart attacks, helps heal them too.
Want this health challenge? Then every moment you can; breathe in, use your smile to generate a loving feeling, breathe it forth, nourishing your heart, nurturing the world. So simple, 100% effective!
